GPS and local preferences
Xpeed requests location after Start. GPS processing takes place in your browser; coordinates are not sent to the Xpeed application server. With history off, current measurement results stay in memory for that session.
Theme and unit preferences may be stored separately from results. GPS and internet history each start off and can be enabled independently.
Optional history and route data
GPS history holds up to 20 summaries and internet history up to 10 results, with a 30-day retention limit checked when storage is accessed. Closing the browser does not run cleanup in the background.
A GPS summary excludes coordinates. Route recording is a separate opt-in. Persisting a recorded route requires history and an explicit save action. You can remove individual entries or clear the history. Browser storage can be cleared or unavailable, so it is not a permanent backup.
Internet test and verification
After you consent to a test, your browser connects to M-Lab. M-Lab receives measurement data including your IP address and publishes test data under its own policy. The test can transfer substantial data; local-history settings do not control M-Lab processing.
In production, Cloudflare Turnstile verifies contact forms, test gates and admin sign-in. This sends verification requests to Cloudflare. Fonts, scripts and images used by the page are hosted by Xpeed.
Contact messages and server requests
The contact form stores your name, email, message and handling status in the site database. These records are available to the authenticated site administrator and are not published. They remain until the administrator deletes them; no fixed automatic deletion period is currently promised.
Ordinary website requests may expose IP addresses and request metadata to the hosting infrastructure. Xpeed does not send GPS coordinates or personal tool results as analytics events. No advertising or third-party analytics code is included in this version.
Your choices and questions
You can stop location use, revoke site permissions, disable history and delete stored results. Contact Us if you have a question about a message submitted to the site. Include enough information to locate the message without sending sensitive data.
